We built this because we kept watching good contractors lose work to voicemail.
JobOne comes out of a web design agency that already builds and runs websites for home service businesses. Same clients, same problems, every year.
Where this came from
A great website doesn’t help if nobody picks up.
We spent years building websites for cleaners, handymen, plumbers, painters, and carpenters. The sites worked. The phone rang. And then the owner was on a ladder, or under a sink, or driving — and the call went to voicemail, and the homeowner called the next name on their list.
Meanwhile those same owners were paying for field service software, sometimes an AI answering add-on on top of it, and us for the website. Three vendors, three bills, and nobody who owned the whole thing when a lead went missing.
So we built the thing we kept wishing we could hand them: one platform that answers the phone, books the work, bills for it, and runs the website that brought it in.
Our first customers are our existing clients. We know their businesses, they know where we live, and there is nowhere to hide if this doesn’t work.
How we work
Four things we decided early and haven’t moved on.
A dropped call is worse than a missing feature
This runs your phone and your website. If either breaks, you lose money and we lose a reputation we spent years building. Reliability wins every argument here, including the ones about shipping faster.
Setup is the product
Most contractors who quit software quit because nobody ever finished setting it up. So we do it. That’s not a premium service tier — it’s how everybody onboards.
Say the awkward part out loud
Card processing markup, texting registration delays, what the AI won’t do, what happens if you stop paying. It’s all on this site, because you’d find out anyway and it’s better coming from us.
Your data is yours
Contacts, jobs, invoices, transcripts, website content and images — exportable on request. Your domain transfers out. It’s in the contract from day one, not a favor we grant on the way out.
Where we are right now
Small on purpose, and honest about it.
We are onboarding a small founding group by hand — a handful of businesses we can get completely right rather than a hundred we set up badly. There is no setup fee for anyone; the build and the migration are part of what you subscribe to.
Support is email and text, monday–friday, 8am–6pm et, with a next business day commitment. If your site or your phones are down, there’s a separate path that pages the owner directly, any hour.
If you want a vendor with a support org and a ticket queue, we are not that yet. If you want the person who built it to answer when you call, that’s exactly what this is.
