AI Receptionist
It answers on ring five, so you don’t have to answer on ring one.
Overflow and after-hours calls picked up by something that knows your trade, your prices, and your service area — and books the work instead of taking a message.
Book a DemoThe problem
An answering service takes a message. A voicemail takes nothing.
A homeowner with a leak, a broken gate, or a house that needs cleaning before Saturday is not going to leave a voicemail and wait. They are going to hang up and dial the next number they found.
The usual fixes don’t fix it. Hiring someone to answer the phone costs more than the jobs it saves at your size. A traditional answering service takes a name and a number, which means you still have to call back — and by then the job is gone.
What you actually need is for somebody to pick up, understand the problem, know whether you do that kind of work in that part of town, and put it on the calendar.
What JobOne does
Specifically, here’s what happens.
Your phone rings first
Nothing changes about how customers reach you. You keep your number. The AI only picks up when you don’t — you’re on another call, you’re under a sink, or it’s 9pm. Calls you answer are calls you answer.
It knows your business
It works from your own service list and prices, your service area, and your hours. It won’t book a job you don’t do, in a town you don’t drive to, at a time you don’t work.
It qualifies before it books
Name, address, what’s wrong, how urgent, and how they found you. By the time the appointment lands on your calendar you already know what you’re walking into.
Genuine emergencies reach you
When a call needs a human — an emergency, a complaint, something outside the script — it warm-transfers to your cell while the caller is still on the line.
No call is ever a dead end
If the transfer doesn’t connect, it takes the details, tells the caller they’ll get a text back, and sends you the transcript and the number right then. You decide whether it’s worth returning.
Recorded, transcribed, searchable
Every call is disclosed as recorded in the greeting — which keeps you clean in all-party consent states, not just the easy ones. Audio is kept 90 days; the written transcript stays for the life of your account.
Texting from the same number
The number that answers your calls also handles texts, so confirmations and reminders come from a number your customer recognizes rather than a random short code.
You can hear exactly what it said
Every call is in your dashboard with the recording, the transcript, and what came of it. No black box, and no wondering whether it said something strange to a customer.
What it doesn’t do
- It does not answer every call by default. Your phone rings first, and that’s deliberate — you can switch to answer-everything once you trust it.
- It is not a human, and it does not pretend to be one. It says it is an assistant, and it says the call is recorded.
- It will not quote a complicated multi-day project over the phone. It books the estimate; you price the job.
- Business texting requires carrier registration, which takes days to weeks and is outside anyone’s control. Voice usually goes live well before texting does.
We’d rather you find this out here than three weeks into using it.
